WHAT ARE THE PROS AND CONS OF UPDATING TO WINDOWS 10?

It is a major improvement from the touch-optimized Windows 8. Here are some of the major features of the new OS:

1. the start menu is back in windows 10 :

    pros: 1. Quiet useful.
              2. Optional translucent Aero look.
              3. Customization can be done.
    
    cons: 1. Need to be rich.


2. Cortana, Microsoft's digital assistant : 

     pros:

             1. Very useful and intelligent tool .

             2. If you search a destination using cortana , Cortana  will begin giving you your              destination location, hours, and more. It can also regularly show general info like weather and reminders, and can even operate applications. 

     cons:
             1. no major negatives.

3. Microsoft Edge Browser:
 pros:
1. improvement over Internet Explorer.
2. It loads pages quickly and easily with support for modern web standards. 
3.Edge also allows you directly annotate, mark, and note on Web pages for your reference and share your markings with others. 
4.This is a true browser that can compete with others like Chrome and Safari.

cons:
1.Microsoft beached to your pc means all of a sudden all daily services will rely on microsoft tools.
2.As of security issues Edge  no longer support VML ,VB script,toolbox , BHOs...
3. captive audience means gone 



4.Continuum :
 pros:
        1.Windows Phone users to easily pick up on whatever they left off on their Windows PC on                   their phone, and vice versa
cons : 
        1. No major negatives.

  pros :
  1. Improves gaming performance

6. Multiple “virtual” desktops:
  pros:
 1. Multiple virtual desktops can be created.

 

7. Action & notification center:
 pros: 
    1. displaying messages clearly -along with a mini "control-center" underneath that provides      access to commonly used settings. 


Summary: Overall user experience is sleek  and interesting with good customization settings. Also Windows 10 is to remove default settings application from control panel to PC settings app. Few may not like it.Also some users miss the presence of windows media center but the update is most likely to be a Welcome Update.
